They have come a long way from the simple burger, cheeseburger and fries. More recently with the creation of the McCafe the brand still seems to be going from strength to strength. The McCafe has satisfied the early morning consumer by introducing an addition to the Mcdonalds breakfast menu. As well as Cappucino’s, Espresso, Tea’s and freshly squeezed orange juice. One can enjoy 4 different fairy cupcakes, Lemon Torte, White and Dark chocolate cookies and adorable muffins.

Although still satisfying the lunch and evening diners with their staple menu over time Mcdonalds have always introduced new promotions and teamed up with top movie production houses to guarantee that they attract the new wave of customer which starts with the children. Their happy meals are a great way to keep kids entertained with the little gift toys and collectible items which mum or dad sit and chat over a coffee or milkshake with their lunches.

Mcdonalds brand also recognises the health conscious diner amongst their clientele and over time added salads for both meat and non meat eaters. You can enjoy two types of chicken salad and a salmon salad. Along with the McCafe great drinks such as real fruit smoothies and Frappes.

What keeps Mcdonalds one step ahead of their competition is the wonderful new seasonal menu items that they offer the consumer. Often we can see regular menu items with a touch of different cultures ie. a taste of cajun or mexican.

There is always something on the menu for everyone and that is why people keep loving it !

Brands We Love

Brands We Love

I wanted some information about products that have become known by their brand names, so I googled it.

With Yahoo. Then I googled it with Bing. Doesn’t everyone?

Has anyone ever in his or her entire life ever asked someone for a facial tissue? Would you get strange looks if you did ask someone for a facial tissue? The name “Kleenex” has become synonymous with the product. There are some brands that are so good and so widely used, we do not even know what the actual name of the product is.

Another example of this is petroleum jelly. Is this something that goes with peanut butter? Of course not, but everyone calls petroleum jelly “Vaseline,” no matter who the manufacturer is.

There are other examples of brand names that have virtually become common nouns. We don’t use cellophane tape. We use Scotch Tape. Would you like to offer your child a frozen fruit bar? Will he look at you kind of funny? H

ow about a Popsicle? Now you’re talking. Of course you could label any of these items with a removable label, but a Post-It note will do a much better job.

Do you listen to music on an i-Pod, whether Apple made it or not? Doesn’t i-Pod have a much nicer ring to it than mp3 player? Of course when cassettes were still in vogue, we all listened to music with our Walkmen, even if Sony had not made them.

I think I am getting a headache from all of this. I should take an aspirin. Oh, no. Aspirin is the name Arthur Eichengrün gave to acetylsalicylic acid. Arthur Eichengrün? He was a chemist for the German company Bayer. They also gave diacetylmorphine a catchy new name. Certainly everyone is familiar with that great cough medicine, diacetylmorphine. Bayer marketed it as Heroin up until the First World War.

Instead of the aspirin, maybe I will just eat some candy coated chocolate. M & M’s. Even my dog understands marketing. If I ask him if he wants a biscuit, he just ignores me, but when I say Milk Bone, that tail starts wagging. And if you don’t believe any of this, just google it.

Aston Martin

AML has to be one of the greatest brands and is very iconic.

Aston Martin

The organizations work really hard to meet the expectations of their brand loyal customers. Consumer behavior studies have revealed that a satisfied customer will always prefer the same brand and never try another product. One fine example of this brand loyalty is clearly visible in the automotive industry.

The car manufacturers from all over the world continuously upgrade and modify their product line in order to have a firm grip over their market. That strategy enables the companies like Volkswagen, Nissan, Toyota Motors, Fiat, General Motors, Aston Martin and etc to stay in the market and enjoy the status of the heavy weights of the global auto industry.

Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is among the most reputable car manufacturers in the world. With a history which revolves around hundred years, the cars from this British company are widely acclaimed in most parts of the world. Established in 1913, the company is known for making luxury sports cars. The very first car from Aston Martin was introduced in 1915 and since then, they have never looked back. Throughout this period, the company has seriously focused on introducing innovative ideas and presents the car with different variations. This approach has worked really well both for the company and their customers.

There was some hindrance in the production due to the World War I but in 1922 the company introduced cars to participate in the French Grand Prix. The cars remained at the top and created world speed and endurance records at Brooklands. Aston Martin had seen many ups and downs in between the World War I and World War II and produced only 700 units of vehicles.

rapideThe time between the early fifties to early seventies is considered as the classic era for Aston Martin, when the company was owned by David Brown Limited. Aston Martin introduced the famous DB series during that period. Despite of receiving wide acclamation from the market, the company was sold and then resold many times for numerous reasons.

The company was remained in the hands of Peter Sprague, Victor Gauntlett and Ford for almost three decades. In 2007, a new era had started and a consortium headed by Prodrive bought Aston Martin for GB£475m. Ford along with two Kuwaiti businessmen are also a part of that consortium.

The Aston Martin is also known as Bond car as these stylish cars have been regularly used by James Bond in his different movies. Some of the famous and most admired models from Aston Martin are DB Mark III, DB4 GT Zagato, DB6, V8 Vantage, Lagonda, DB7 Zagato coupe/roadster, V12 Vanquish/S, DBS V12,Virage and Rapide. This iconic brand is till going strong and expected to impress the masses for long.

Johnson and Johnson

We might not recognise their main name but all the brands that J&J own is quite amazing and it is highly likely we use many of these brands every single day.

One of the refreshing thing and jnj IS the amount they put back in to the environment and charities and more can be found on their website – http://www.jnj.com/connect/

Ok I agree this is not one of the main iconic brands but JNJ have so many well known brands within their protfolio which ranges from teeth whitening, headache tablets, baby products and general medicines.

Vauxhall

Vauxhall
You many be thinking why we are writing about Vauxhall and top consumer brands but this car manufacturer has been churning out some of the worlds most popular selling cars for over five decades and this is why we have added them to the list.

During the recent recession General Motors received millions of dollars of US funding to survive and had to restructure its business interests and assets but like any large organisation how they run their balance sheets is far from how we see and experience a car in the UK or across any of the other countries that Vauxhall and GM operate.

Generally Vauxhall is well known for producing affordable and reliable cars and this is why they remain popular and big sellers as you know what you are getting and this is supported by a huge dealer network.

So this might be slightly odd placing Vauxhall in the same list as the worlds most popular brands but netherless is an iconic well known brand.

Adidas

Top brands don’t come much bigger than German sportwear giant Adidas. With their iconic three stripes the legend keeps churning top footwear and clothing for leisure, football, rugby and many more sports including tennis and running right through to more specialist sports.

Their range of fashion and innovation makes them a desirable brand to own and this is why many top sporting teams are associated with them including the All blacks New Zealand rugby team, Real Madrid football and Chelsea to name just a few. With top stars like David Beckham being sponsored by Adidas.

During the 1980’s Adidas created some lines which were very retro and these are now back in favour as they typically sport the three stripes with contrasting colour concepts.

Making great sportswear for many years and holding top quality workmanship is why Adidas is one of the best loved brands in the world.

Guinness

Guinness like coca cola is well known for their amazing TV adverts and innovative marketing.

Like marmite you will either love or hate Guinness as it has an acquired taste and in the last few years has developed its ranges to cater for the younger drinker.

Originated in Dublin Ireland it is well worth visiting the factory as it has machinery for when Guinness first started right up to modern beer making techniques as well as all the advertising material. One of their original adverts protests that Guinness is good for you which adverts like that just simply do not happen when you are linking alcohol and health together!

The brand is iconic and continues to be linked with many top sporting events like the Rugby and is popular all over the world.

Bosch

Now the range of Bosch products is simply huge and ranges from car part to household goods.

The German manufacturer is re-known for being high quality and leaders for innovation and this has made Bosch a well respected brand.

Many European cars will have Bosch computers and chips controlling the electronics from engine management to interior light functions. In the 80’s Bosch had a great range of blue spot car audio equipment but now focus more on original equipment systems working with car manufacturers opposed to the after-market car accessories. It still supplies car parts to its trade distribution network.
According to Wikipedia Bosch employs over 280,000 people worldwide!

Bosch has partners all over the world but some of the well known partnerships include Neff, Siemens and Dremel to name a few.

It may not be a trendy or cool brand but has remained true to its core principles for over 100 years.

Nokia

For many years Nokia has been seen as the worlds leading manufacturer of mobile phones and their innovative handsets and software has been loved by everyone.

Nokia had such a large range of handsets there was always a handset for everyone no matter what you intended the handset for voice, data, browsing, gaming then Nokia made a handset perfect for you.

More recently since the advent of the smartphone then Nokia has lost its market share to handset manufacturers like Apple’s iphone, HTC, Sony erricson, Palm and many more who are using a licensed operating system like Googles android, Blackberry, windows mobile or palm’s symbian.

Nokia have always made their own software and this has been a disadvantage in recent years as the smartphone market has grown and many smaller brands of handsets have overtaken them.

In developing countries Nokia is still a large player as these emerging markets need basic but reliable handsets and this is what Nokia does best.

Nokia is a great innovator and it will not be long before they hit the market with a great smartphone that wows us all with features and stunning looks we expect from Nokia.
